Announcing the Music Instructors for Salt+Light

A Work in Progress is pleased to introduce you to Elizabeth “Beth” Crichton and Johannah Macbeth, who will be teaming up to lead Salt+Light in their musical endeavors.

Elizabeth “Beth” Crichton calls herself a “missionary kid” as she was raised in South Africa and served there with her family. She graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from The Master’s College in California. While there, she received the Distinguished Scholar’s Award, made the President’s List all four years, and was named the Musician of the Year in 2013. She has taught music at the Heritage Christian School, accompanied the Master’s College Chorale, and has served as a Choral Assistant for the Rhode Island Children’s Chorus. Her energy and vision for using music in outreach is contagious!

Johannah Macbeth has participated in the Rhode Island Philharmonic and Music School as a pianist and violist for private lessons, chamber ensembles, youth orchestra, fund raisers, camps, and other activities. Her coaches varied from former Boston Symphony members to current Rhode Island Philharmonic players. She is a certified Suzuki Piano Teacher from the Hartt School of Music in CT, and began teaching music history when she was 15. Along with teaching private lessons in piano, viola and violin, she participates in the Rhode Island College music chamber ensembles, chamber orchestra, and symphony.  She has always had a heart for outreach and missions, volunteering with Community Music Works in Providence, as well as volunteering with Care Alternatives as a Music Therapist. Last summer, she worked at a Christian Missions camp, which trained teens for work in the mission field. With Salt+Light, she can combine both music and mission.

Applications for Salt+Light are due TODAY, May 15… but there is still time to join. Contact us if you are interested in being part of this ground-breaking group!
